San Diego Poodle Rescue - Available Dogs


Sammie Click here for more photos Sammie was found as a stray with matted hair and a little boy lost look. He was taken in by a good samaritan who was unable to locate his owner, so he came into our rescue. Sammie looks to be a miniature poodle/lhasa apso mix. He has obvious poodle hair but his long body and face give away another breed in the mix! He is a creamy white color. Sammie has been groomed to a beautiful boy, shots updated, microchip placed and vet checked. He is already neutered and has nice clean teeth. He weighs approximately 16lb and we think is about 2 years of age. Sammie has obviously been accustomed to being a house dog. He LOVES going for walks and car rides and of course getting lots of attention. He has a super personality and loves people. He is ok with other dogs, too. We're not sure about cats, though. Dora Click here for more photos of Dora! Ok, so Dora isn't a poodle. But, she is poodle-approved, if that makes a difference!!!! Dora is a little black kitten who we found in our dog grooming room at rescue headquarters when she was only about 7 weeks of age. Our poodles and cats must have attracted her. Mind you, this is out in the country, through empty fields, horses, goats, chickens, etc. No Dora mom or siblings to be found. This little kitten chose to make her way to us, hence the name "Dora - the Explorer". Dora was probably born in late April 2008. She is a lively little girl, full of energy and play-fullness. She is not at all daunted by the poodles and is currently fostered in a home with several standards and a miniature. Dora is vet checked, up to date on vaccines, wormed and has been tested feline leukemia negative. She will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Poe Click here for more photos Poe isn't quite a poodle either, but we've got him under the "honorary poodle" category for our website! Poe is a 2 year old male neutered chihuahua. What a cute little blondie! He is friendly to everyone - dogs, cats, people, kids. He needs to go to a home with another dog friendly dog - his current best friend is a great dane! Poe is crate trained and leash trained, loves to play fetch, run, jump and snuggle. He is up to date on vaccines, and has never been sick a day in his life. Zeke-ADOPTED!! Click here for more photos of Zeke Zeke is a 4 1/2 month old silver standard poodle puppy. He is a sweet and very well-behaved boy. His house-training skills are almost perfect! He loves people, is great with other dogs and with cats. Playing with toys and being by your side are his favorite activities. Zeke needs to go to a home where he will get alot of attention - where someone is home most of the time. He will need alot of training and patience - this is a puppy!
